Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Trimax Razor Aluminum Ball Mount for two inch hitches, has a six inch drop and an 8,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this ball mount is gonna let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The solid shank portion right here, it'll slide into your vehicle's two inch hitch receiver and you secure it to your receiver using a five eighths inch diameter pin and clip RA hitch lock. Those items are not included. We do sell those separately on our website.
Now the ball platform right up front here, this provides the mounting point for your hitch ball. And again, the hitch ball is also sold separately. The ball hole diameter that the hitch ball fits in is three quarters of an inch. Now this ball mount does offer a six inch drop, and the drop is always measured from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform. So this is gonna give you a six inch drop.
The fixed design gives you the exact drop you need. Now this also comes available in a two inch, four inch, eight inch, or 10 inch drop if you need those. Now this ball mount is built from 100% forged aluminum so it won't corrode over time. And it is a solid aluminum construction, so it makes it very easy to handle without the excess weight. Now the weight rating on this, the gross towing weight capacity is 8,000 pounds.
The maximum tongue weight capacity of 800 pounds, and that is stamped on the front of the ball mount right here. Last thing I wanna give you is the length, and the length of the ball mount is always measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. So if we go center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, it's gonna be right at eight and a half inches. But that's gonna do it for a look at this Trimax Razor aluminum ball mount for two inch hitches with the six inch drop.
I haven’t use it yet but I would like to say that it looks strong and very well made. I will revisit this page afterwards.
